Doris Lessing Wins the Nobel Prize in Literature!

Women dance in circles, this is a great day! Doris Lessing a famed writer for several generations gets a renewed recognition. Read her, read about her, read on too!

So why so many articles? I wanted to see what people around the globe were writing, well part of the globe. The one article I wanted I could not find! So go to MSN and read an article from AP.
Tell your friends about this post and return often. Thanks!

NEWS: today the what's going on....pick your front...

Let's face it: it can be hard to find good news some days. The President didn't want to expand health care for children: hopefully he won't veto the new bill. College students will get a better loan deal ( a definite plus). Most of the coverage on the Jena 6 does not include the many great speakers seeking justice in America. Just remember there are thousands of people talking they are real and have legitimate concerns.

Couldn't quickly find an update on the progress of the UAW strike.

The IRaq and global warming news articles are getting more and more bizarre! There were too many articles to print tonight. We have sent several hundred thousand men and women to Iraq. Many returned severely injured: brain damage being high on the list. The numbers aren't always present. We aren't providing adequately for their needs. The cost of war for both sides is exploding faster than most realize.

My minister says,"It's good to read the news, you know what to pray for." Remember too, there's an awful lot going on in the world that we don't really get much or good coverage on. Remember, it not just about US.

Monday Bad News Day: Can you stomach this?

I wanted to include 2 more stories but couldn't find them here at the News Room. Go to Aol and see if you can find the story on beauty pageant winners not receiving scholarships: beauty queens beware!

Also: the story about Bush wanting to make cuts in social security and increase taxes! More on these stories soon!

Civil Rights in LA? Post comments...

Ok, I looked for stories in the obvious places. All report the happenings, and relate it to old rallies. None go deeper, or reflect on the significance of African Americans needing to come together. There is a far greater depth to the issues at hand. Also to the issues Americans are dealing with today. Please feel free to give your analysis.

Frankly to say that there is no connection to the incidents that have happened really missed the target. OPen your eyes attorney. Open you eyes America! I am proud to see African Americans standing up again, it's long overdue. This is not just a cover story for a day or 2, it's a call to action. Plus perhaps people working together can keep working on the issues that go far below the surface of what we see today. Please add your thoughts. Mary

Just in case you are wondering: where did all the arms go?

Some say follow the money. Short story: the war game and profit industry is thriving, and seems bound to keep growing. Acquisitions and repurchase of stock means a few of the bigwigs will make all the more money. War=profit. Nothing new, just today's state of affairs. Play your war game: follow the money.

Also if your kids lost billions of dollars of your hard earned tax dollars would you ask why? It isn't just the National Guard...tiptoe through all the services. Visit a Blackwater accounting room. Who is doing anything about this? The Congress and President Bush KNOW about this.

My question who is the recipient of all these weapons? And other equipment. And is there a hot black market for old US stuff? What a profit! Please comment.

Hot Stories: Did you see this? How can this town find healing?

Though this tastes of the sixties, the worse part is it's all about now. Some people still don't get it, and the insensitivity of the town, school officials, and the USA creates major disappointment to most citizens, I hope.

OK, three articles, complicated stories, and considerable controversy: what do you think and why? Could this happen in your town? What do you think should be done? Any solutions? Comment to me. Thanks.
